I have been in training since January 2010 for my first figure competition on May 1, 2010. A figure competition is for women and is like bodybuilding but smaller muscles (that's my own description). I've been lifting weights at least 4 times a week, doing cardio 4-6 times a week and following a nutritional and supplement regimen set forth by my trainer based on how my body has responded to the cardio and strength training. The objective is to build muscle and lose body fat so the muscles show and now, in the last week before the show, to "dehydrate" so the muscles really "pop out."
No one knows what I will actually look like until the day of the show since I'll be shedding water all week. Assuming I'll look "pretty good" I hope to just complete this show, try to enjoy the experience and if it is a good one, train again (and build more muscle in certain areas) for a show in the fall.
I am entered to compete in two categories: Figure Open (short category) and Figure Masters (over 50).
I am a little nervous.
